Iredell Co., NC (May 23, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Iredell County early Thursday morning claimed one person’s life. The collision took place at around 1:40 a.m. on May 23.
Reports from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol indicate that a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on Interstate 77 during the early morning hours. The motorcycle collided with a 1998 International box truck near mile marker 56. The motorcyclist, identified as 35-year-old Dustin Kyle Pope, was ejected from his vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on site. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
