Columbus, GA (May 24, 2024) – The Columbus Police Department confirmed that one person died as a result of a motor vehicle that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, May 21. The police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 1:55 p.m.
According to official reports, a head-on collision between vehicles occurred on Woodruff Farm Road during the afternoon hours. Authorities arrived at the scene and immediately secured the roadway. One person involved in the accident was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Muscogee County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the victim as 44-year-old Jerry Lewis Willis. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
