Lexington Co., SC (May 27, 2024) – A collision reported just outside of Pelion in Lexington County claimed one person’s life while leaving multiple other people injured. The South Carolina Highway Patrol was called to the scene of the accident at around 2:00 p.m., on May 25.
Official reports indicate that a 2003 Ford F150 was traveling westbound in the area of US Highway 178 and DE Clark Road. At the same time, a 1997 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling southbound through the intersection. As both vehicles proceeded forward, they collided, prompting the closure of the intersection. Two people in the 2003 Ford were injured. Two people in the 1997 Ford were also injured. A passenger in the 2003 Ford died from their injuries while at the scene. The three additional victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency medical care. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
