Spartanburg, SC (May 29, 2024) – The Spartanburg County coroner’s office confirmed that 79-year-old Joe Tucker lost his life as a result of a fatal accident that occurred on Monday, May 27.
At around noon, authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Highway 296. Official reports show that a collision took place on the roadway near Freys Drive. The crash caused one of the involved vehicles to go off the road, collide with a pole, and overturn before striking a tree. Authorities rushed to the scene and immediately shut down a portion of the roadway. One person involved in the accident, identified as Tucker, was fatally injured. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
