Grimesland, NC (May 30, 2024) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol confirmed that Taylor Hathaway Cox lost her life as a result of a bicycle accident that occurred in Grimesland on Tuesday evening, May 28.
According to official reports, Kristen Loree Johnson was driving westbound on North Carolina Highway 33 at around 7:15 p.m. As she proceeded through the area near Country Road, she crashed into a bicyclist. The bicyclist, identified as Cox, was severely injured. Despite medical efforts, she died from her injuries while being transported to ECU Health Medical Center. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
