Pelzer, SC (June 1, 2024) – A fatal motor vehicle accident reported in the Pelzer area on Friday morning claimed one person’s life. The collision took place on May 31, at around 2:50 a.m.
The police reports indicate that a 2013 Volkswagen sedan was traveling northbound on Augusta Road when it collided with a 1998 Freightliner tractor-trailer near Lickville Road. The man in the sedan was fatally injured. The victim, identified as John Eric Childs, was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was 39 years old. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
