Columbus, GA (July 8, 2024) – Emergency officials were notified that their assistance was needed at the scene of a motor vehicle accident in which one man lost his life. The collision took place at around 4:00 a.m. on July 7. Official reports indicate that a 55-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while walking in the area of Buena Vista Road and Steam Mill Road. Authorities arrived at the scene and shut down the 3500 block of the roadway. The pedestrian, identified as Patric James Nerber, was pronounced deceased at the scene by authorities. At this time, the incident is under investigation by the Columbus Police Department’s motor squad.
