Athens-Clarke, GA (November 14, 2023) – The Athens-Clarke Police Department confirmed that 59-year-old John Clark of Athens, Georgia, died as a result of a fatal collision that took place during the evening hours.
At around 12:40 a.m., the Athens Police Department was called to the scene of an accident near the Athens Perimeter on Chase Street.
Preliminary crash reports show that a 43-year-old man was driving a 1990 Honda Accord last on the inside lanes when he struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, identified as Clark, suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased by responding officers while at the scene.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
