Augusta, GA (April 22, 2024) – A fatal pedestrian accident reported in Augusta claimed one person’s life early Thursday morning, April 18. The Augustine Police Department responded to the scene of the accident at around 12:30 a.m.
Reports from local authorities indicate that 38-year-old Tony Maurice Walker of Augusta, Georgia, was walking in the area of deans Bridge Road and Lyman Street just after midnight when he was struck by a vehicle. Walker was severely injured in the accident. He was pronounced deceased by the Richmond County Coroner’s Office. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision. At this time, the Coroner’s Office is investigating the incident.
