Augusta, GA (February 10, 2024) – The Richmond County Coroner’s Office confirmed that two children lost their lives as a result of a house fire that occurred on Thursday morning in Augusta.
At approximately 1:04 a.m., authorities were called to the scene of a house fire in the 1900 block of Moore Road. Firefighters rushed to the scene and immediately went to work battling the blaze. Firefighters were able to take control of the fire quickly and locate the occupants of the home inside. Two children, identified as a 7-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl, were both fatally injured as a result of the fire. The two victims were pronounced deceased by authorities. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
