Barnwell, SC (April 28, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Barnwell area claimed the lives of two people. The incident occurred early Saturday morning, April 27.
According to reports from authorities, at around 310 a.m., a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria was traveling westbound on US Highway 78. For reasons unknown, the vehicle became involved in a collision. As a result, the vehicle went off the roadway and collided with a ditch before overturning multiple times. Two people involved in the crash were ejected and sustained fatal injuries. The victims were identified as 37-year-old Vernon Snipe Jr. and 35-year-old Alton Snipe. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
