Bleckley Co., GA (March 22, 2024) – The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that one person died as a result of an automobile accident that took place in Bleckley County on Wednesday afternoon, March 20. Calls for assistance came in at around 335 p.m.
According to news reports, a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling in the 900 block of Highway 126. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided head-on with a Chevrolet Tahoe. One person involved in the accident was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Five people suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident. Multiple victims had to be flown from the scene by helicopter to area hospitals. The remaining victims were transported by ambulance.
Authorities confirmed the identity of the victim who lost their life in this accident as a 61-year-old male. The injured victims were identified as three juvenile females, ages 5, 6, and 7, one juvenile male, age 15, and a 22-year-old female. At this time, investigations into the accident are underway.
