Cary, NC (January 31, 2024) – The Police Department confirmed that 37-year-old Amy Marie Delettre lost her life as a result of a pedestrian accident that occurred during the evening hours on Monday, January 29.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., the female pedestrian was attempting to cross North Harrison Avenue at the intersection of Hillsborough Street. For unknown reasons, she was struck by a vehicle, which was driven by 82-year-old Richard Yoneoka. Delettre was severely hurt in the crash. She was rushed to an area hospital, where she died from her injuries. The driver is currently facing a charge for a misdemeanor count of death by motor vehicle. The incident is being investigated.
