Fatal Car Accidents in South Carolina
Motor vehicle accidents are the cause of more than 40,000 deaths across the United States each year. Unfortunately, we see a fair share of these crashes take place right here in our state. Far too often, these accidents are a result of negligence. Leading factors include:
- Speeding: Exceeding posted limits increases the risk of drivers losing control of their vehicles while also increasing the impact of collisions.
- Drunk driving: Impaired judgment and delayed reactions from alcohol consumption can and often do lead to deadly collisions on our state’s roadways.
- Fatigue: Exhaustion can have a devastating impact on a driver’s cognitive function and alertness. This dramatically increases the likelihood of fatal accidents on the road.
These and other reckless and careless actions continue to contribute to a significant number of fatal collisions in our state every year. If your loved one has died due to another driver’s reckless or careless actions, your family may be able to pursue a wrongful death claim against them. It is vital that you seek representation from a wrongful death lawyer as soon as possible.
