Charlotte, NC (January 16, 2024) – Multiple law enforcement agencies and several helicopters responded to the scene of a major accident that occurred on Friday morning in Stanly County and claimed one person’s life. The less Stanly Fire Department responded to the crash at approximately 7:40 a.m. on January 12.
Official reports indicate that a car accident occurred in the 14,000 block of Liberty Hill Church Road. Three people became trapped inside of their vehicle as a result of the accident. Multiple firefighters responded to the scene to extricate the victims. Helicopters were requested to transfer the victims. However, two of the injured parties were transported by ambulance instead. One of the victims involved in the accident was fatally injured and later pronounced deceased. At this time, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating.
