Charlotte, NC (June 22, 2024) – A fatal motor vehicle accident reported in the Charlotte area claimed one person’s life. The incident took place at around 6:30 p.m. on June 18.
According to reports from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, a 2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle and a second vehicle collided on East Independence Boulevard near the Eastway Drive interchange. Authorities arrived at the scene and located the motorcycle, a 2013 Dodge Charger, and a CATS bus blocking the roadway. The motorcyclist was severely injured in the crash after being ejected from his vehicle due to the accident. The victim was pronounced deceased on-site. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
