Charlotte, NC (March 10, 2024) – Emergency crews were dispatched to provide assistance at the scene of a major motor vehicle accident that occurred in Northeast Charlotte and claimed one person’s life on Saturday morning, March 9.
At around 4:00 a.m., a white SUV and a black sedan collided on Periwinkle Road at the intersection of North Tryon Street. Authorities arrived at the scene and immediately closed down the intersection while working to remove debris and the damaged vehicles from the road. One person involved in the accident was pronounced deceased by medics while at the scene. Two victims were injured. Both of the victims were rushed to area hospitals for emergency care. One of the victims was admitted with life-threatening injuries. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
