Cherryville, NC (July 1, 2024) – A woman has lost her life as a result of a fatal accident that occurred in the Cherryville area of Gaston County. The collision took place at around 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 27.
Official reports indicate that a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling on Highway 150 during the morning hours. For unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed over the center line of the roadway and collided with a Kia sedan. The driver of the Kia, who was identified as 56-year-old Loretta Howell, was pronounced deceased as a result of her injuries while still at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, who was later identified as Nathan Lee Reinhardt, was arrested by the police. He is currently facing charges of DWI, reckless driving, and death by motor vehicle. Investigations are currently ongoing.
