Clarkesville, GA (June 2, 2024) – One person has lost their life as a result of a fatal accident that occurred on Friday in Clarkesville. Georgia Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene of the accident at around 1:00 p.m. on May 31.
According to official reports, a motor vehicle accident occurred on Highway 115 during the afternoon hours. A 1937 Chevrolet pickup truck involved in the accident ran off the side of the roadway and collided with the ditch. One person involved in the accident was ejected from the vehicle. The victim was identified as 73-year-old Larry Hart. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by authorities. One additional person involved in the accident, 78-year-old Jerry Neal, was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia, for the treatment of serious injuries. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
