Cobb Co., GA (January 3, 2024) – A multi-vehicle wreck reported in Cobb County on Tuesday claimed one person’s life. Calls for assistance came in at around 3:10 a.m. on January 2.
According to reports provided by the Georgia Department of Transportation, a total of five vehicles collided on Interstate 75. The incident blocked multiple lanes on the northbound side of the interstate in the area near Cumberland Boulevard. The Highway Patrol and firefighters responded to the scene of the crash and immediately secured the roadway. One person involved in the crash was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced deceased by authorities. An unknown number of people were injured and transported to area hospitals for emergency care. Emergency crews remained at the scene until after 7:00 a.m., working to clear the roadway. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident to determine what caused it to take place.
