Columbia, SC (January 2, 2024) – The Richland County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that one person died as a result of a fatal collision that occurred on Friday afternoon. At around 2:30 p.m. on December 29, calls for help came in regarding an automobile accident on Interstate 126.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a vehicle collision involving a Nissan and three additional vehicles took place on Interstate 126 in the area near Bush River Road. One of the people involved in the accident was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced deceased while on site. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is actively investigating the incident.
