Columbia, SC (April 13, 2024) – The Fairfield County Coroner’s Office identified the victim who lost their life in the crash on April 12 as 45-year-old Felix Jose Zayas Hernandez.
According to official reports, a vehicle was traveling southbound on Interstate 77 overnight when it struck a pedestrian. Authorities arrived at the scene to provide treatment to the injured victim. However, the pedestrian, identified as Zayas Hernandez, suffered fatal injuries. He was subsequently pronounced deceased by authorities. At this time, the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
