Columbia, SC (June 19, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Kershaw County claimed the life of one person. Authorities were called to the scene of the crash on June 17.
According to police reports, two semi-truck tractor-trailers were traveling eastbound on Interstate 20. As they proceeded through the area near mile marker 94, one of the trucks attempted to slow down due to traffic. The vehicle was then struck from behind by the second tractor-trailer. One person was injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital for emergency care. The second victim was pronounced deceased while still at the scene. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
