Columbia, SC (November 13, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Saturday evening claimed one person’s life.
At around 9:00 p.m., officers with the Columbia Police Department were summoned to the site of an automobile accident on Laurel Street. Preliminary investigations show that two vehicles collided on the roadway near the intersection of Assembly Street. The police and firefighters shut down the roadway while providing assistance.
Both drivers were transported to area hospitals for emergency care. Authorities confirmed that one male driver died as a result of the injuries they suffered.
Authorities in Richland County are currently investigating the incident.
