Decatur, GA (November 8, 2023) – A pedestrian lost his life as a result of an automobile accident that occurred on Monday evening in Decatur.
At around 7:15 p.m. on November 6, the Decatur Police Department and firefighters were called to the scene of an accident that was reported on East College Avenue.
Preliminary investigations show that a 16-year-old male was walking in the area of East College Avenue and Commerce Drive when they were struck by a vehicle. The teen suffered severe injuries due to the crash.
The Decatur Police Department, firefighters, and EMS responded to the scene to assist. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased from his injuries.
At this time, the Criminal Investigations Division with the Decatur Police Department is investigating.
