DeKalb Co., GA (December 28, 2023) – A fatal automobile accident reported in DeKalb County claimed one person’s life on Monday morning, December 25. The DeKalb County Police Department was notified of the crash at approximately 3:45 a.m.
According to official reports, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Memorial Drive and Hambrick Road. The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was crossing the roadway when they were struck by the vehicle. The pedestrian sustained severe injuries as a result of the crash. Emergency medical services responded to the scene to render aid to the victim.
The pedestrian was rushed to an area hospital by ambulance for further medical care. Authorities confirmed that the pedestrian died after arriving. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The driver was not injured in the crash. At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are ongoing.
