Durham, NC (December 20, 2023) – Two people lost their lives due to a motor vehicle accident in the Durham area on Sunday evening. The accident was reported during the evening hours on December 18.
According to reports provided by the North Carolina Highway Patrol, a three-vehicle collision occurred on the southbound side of US Highway 70 during the evening hours. Investigations confirmed that one of the involved vehicles was heading southbound on the roadway when it hydroplaned and collided head-on with a vehicle. One additional vehicle then collided with the two vehicles on the road. Two people were fatally injured as a result of the crash. Two additional victims were transported to Duke Medical Center for emergency care. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
