Easley, SC (July 15, 2024) – Emergency crews out of Anderson County were called to the scene of a fatal accident that claimed the life of 72-year-old Timothy Simpson on Friday afternoon, July 12.
Just after two p.m., Simpson was attempting to cross Highway 153. For unknown reasons, he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on the roadway. Authorities arrived at the scene and shut down multiple lanes of the road while assisting on-site. Simpson was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner. Investigations into the accident are currently underway by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Anderson County Office of the Coroner.
