Gilmer Co., GA (May 28, 2024) – A crash reported early Saturday evening, May 25, claimed one person’s life. The accident occurred at around 4:55 p.m.
Reports from the Georgia Highway Patrol indicate that a Nissan Frontier was heading eastbound on Mountain View Drive. As the vehicle traveled through the area of Georgia Highway 5, it failed to yield the right-of-way to a Honda VT100 motorcycle. As a result, the two vehicles collided. The motorcyclist and their passenger were both ejected from the vehicle. The victims were severely injured as a result of the crash. Both victims were flown to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia, where the driver died from their injuries. The passenger remained in critical condition. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
