Goldsboro, NC (July 11, 2024) – A driver has been cited for their actions following a fatal accident that occurred in the Goldsboro area on Monday evening and claimed one person’s life. The Goldsboro Police Department was called to the scene of the crash at around 5:45 p.m. on July 8.
Police reports show that a vehicle was speeding in the area of Ash Street and Center Street during the early evening hours. As a result, the vehicle became involved in a collision. One person was pinned inside the vehicle. A woman involved in the accident sustained fatal injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased. One person involved in the accident, identified as 67-year-old Lee Grubbs, was subsequently cited for exceeding the speed limit and failure to maintain lane control. At this time, investigations into the crash are underway.
