Greenville, SC (January 29, 2024) – The Greenville County coroner’s office identified both of the victims who lost their lives in the motor vehicle accident reported on Saturday afternoon, January 27.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol was notified of the crash at approximately 1:30 p.m. According to reports, a 2012 Ford Escape was involved in a collision with a 2019 Kia Stinger in the 5200 block of Wade Hampton Boulevard. The incident caused the Ford to go off the roadway near Shady Lane. The driver of the Kia was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital for emergency medical treatment. The two people in the Ford, identified as 73-year-old David Owen Jones and 76-year-old Diana Lynn Jones, were both fatally injured. The two victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the crash is under investigation.
