Hickory, NC (November 12, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Hickory claimed the life of an 85-year-old woman.
The accident occurred at around 6:00 p.m. on November 7.
According to official reports, a 2019 Audi A5 was traveling northbound on North Carolina Highway 127. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided with a 2013 Ford Fusion near the intersection of 16th Avenue Northwest.
A passenger in the Ford, identified as 85-year-old Lona Madeline Stafford, was severely injured. She was transported to Carolinas Medical Center, where she passed away from her injuries.
The Hickory Police Department is investigating.
