Jacksonville, GA (July 21, 2024) – A pedestrian lost her life in a motor vehicle accident that took place in the Jacksonville area on Thursday evening, July 19.
According to official reports, a 17-year-old girl was walking northwest on Highway 53 at around 8:55 p.m. As she proceeded through the area near Forum Road, she was struck by a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck, which was traveling northwest on the road. The pedestrian was severely hurt in the crash. She was rushed to Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune for emergency treatment of life-threatening injuries. She was subsequently transported to a second hospital, where she passed away from her injuries. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
