Jonesville, SC (October 22, 2023) – One person lost their life in a fatal crash reported in Union County on Saturday evening. At around 6:40 p.m. on October 21, the South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal accident on West Springs Highway.
Reports provided by SCHP show that a Chevrolet Silverado was involved in the crash while traveling eastbound on the highway. As a result of the collision, the vehicle went off the site of the roadway. The Chevrolet crashed into a tree and caught on fire.
A passenger in the vehicle sustained fatal injuries. They were pronounced deceased on-site. The driver of the vehicle was injured and transported to a nearby medical facility.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
