Fatal Auto Accidents in South Carolina
There are many instances where innocent people lose their lives on our roadways. Unfortunately, more than 1000 people die annually as a result of collisions in our state. Many of these accidents take place due to the negligence of other drivers. Some of the leading factors include:
- Running stop signs: when drivers run stop signs at intersections, they are likely to crash into other vehicles that have the right of way. These accidents can be devastating and often result in rollovers.
- Vehicle defects: defective parts can lead to devastating accidents that result in severe or fatal injuries. We often see these accidents take place as a result of tire blowouts, brake failures, or accelerator jams.
- Wrong-way driving: when drivers are traveling the wrong way, they increase the likelihood of causing severe head-on collisions. In many of these cases, vehicles are traveling at high rates of speed, which severely increases the chance of fatal collisions.
- Street racing: drivers who are raising other vehicles on the road may not be able to stop in time to avoid serious collisions. Racing also increases the likelihood of a driver losing control of their vehicle.
