Macon, GA (February 22, 2024) – The Bibb County Coroner confirmed that a 65-year-old man lost his life in a house fire that occurred during the evening hours on Tuesday, February 21. At around 9:00 p.m., authorities were called to the scene of a house fire on Kitchens Street.
Reports indicate that a home located at 1426 Kitchens Street caught on fire during the evening hours. Authorities rushed to the scene of the accident and began battling the blaze at the home, which is located just off Shurling Drive. A 65-year-old man in the home was severely injured. He was transported to Piedmont Macon Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
