Mint Hill, NC (December 5, 2023) – Authorities confirmed that a crash in Mint Hill on Monday morning claimed the life of a student from the Rocky River High School. The accident was reported at around 8:05 a.m. on December 4.
Reports provided by the Mint Hill Police Department show that a collision took place on Allen Station Drive in the area near Blair Road during the morning hours. Three high school students were involved in the accident. One of the students sustained fatal injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased by authorities.
Authorities confirm that the victim was 18-year-old Jovany Escamilla-Salinas. Two additional victims, also identified as students from the high school, were seriously injured. The victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency care. Investigations into the crash are currently underway.
