Morganton, NC (January 15, 2024) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol confirmed that 31-year-old Aaron Nicholas Langley of Ellenboro, North Carolina, has died as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Burke County. The accident was reported on January 15.
At approximately 6:55 a.m., a 2000 Nissan Xterra was heading northbound on US Highway 64. For reasons unknown, the vehicle collided head-on with a 2020 Freightliner utility truck. The force of the crash caused the Nissan to catch on fire. The Nissan driver, identified as Langley, became trapped inside his vehicle. He was fatally injured and pronounced deceased by authorities. The driver of the utility truck, 25-year-old Jacob Andrew Christenbury, was uninjured. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
