Fatal Auto Accidents in South Carolina
Fatal car accidents occur all too frequently in South Carolina, claiming numerous lives each year. The loss of a loved one in such tragic events can be incredibly overwhelming, especially when innocent individuals fall victim to the negligence of drivers on the road.
In the aftermath of a fatal car crash, families have the option to pursue a wrongful death claim against the responsible driver. This legal action serves as a means for families to seek financial compensation for the losses and damages they have endured.
During this challenging period, families can seek compensation to ease the burden they face. Some of the damages that families have the ability to recover include:
- Funeral and Burial Expenses: This can include money to alleviate the impact of the costs associated with laying the deceased to rest, including funeral services and burial arrangements.
- Lost Earning Capacity: Damages may include the potential income the deceased would have earned over their lifetime if not for the fatal accident.
- Loss of Services: This refers to the value of household and other services the deceased would have provided to their family if they had survived.
By securing the necessary funds for these end-of-life expenses, families can manage these arrangements without added stress. Furthermore, families can request compensation for lost income potential, loss of services, and companionship, among other related damages. Consulting with a South Carolina wrongful death attorney can significantly enhance your family’s chances of obtaining justice and upholding your rights. Your attorney will work to gather evidence, construct a case on your behalf, and advocate for holding the negligent driver accountable for their actions.
