Newnan, GA (June 18, 2024) – Half a dozen people died as a result of a major fire incident reported in Newnan, Georgia, on Monday, June 17.
According to official reports, a fire broke out at a residential structure located in the 1300 block of Macedonia Road. Authorities were called to the scene at around 4:55 a.m. Firefighters immediately went to work battling the blaze. Several people were trapped inside the structure. The home was occupied by 11 people at the time of the fire. Among the victims were three children, ages 6, 12, and 13. A 70-year-old was also involved in the incident. Six victims were pronounced deceased on-site as a result of their injuries. Five victims were hurt and rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital for care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
