Highways are full of cars and trucks traveling at great speeds, and unfortunately, this means that there is a greater risk for accidents to occur. Just one negligent act on the part of a driver can result in a catastrophic or even fatal accident. Apart from speeding, highway accidents may also stem from poorly maintained roads, highway defects, defective parts or equipment, and poor weather conditions. Examples of common highway accidents in North Carolina are jackknifing, rollovers, head-on or rear-end collisions, and multiple car pile-ups.
