North Myrtle Beach, SC (April 4, 2024) – A pedestrian accident reported in North Myrtle Beach on Tuesday claimed one person’s life. The incident occurred at around 11:30 p.m. on April 2.
According to area law enforcement reports, a pedestrian was attempting to cross Highway 17 during the evening hours. For unknown reasons, they were struck by a 2005 Ford Escape, which was heading down the highway near Highway 179. The pedestrian, who was identified as 32-year-old Kasey Wayew of Calabash, North Carolina, was fatally injured. He was pronounced deceased while at the scene. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
