Pender Co., NC (March 13, 2024) – The North Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that 44-year-old Joey White of Turkey, North Carolina, lost his life as a result of a fatal collision that occurred over the weekend in Pender County.
According to authorities, White was driving a moped south on US Highway 421. At the same time, a second vehicle was traveling on the same road at a high rate of speed. The vehicle failed to slow down, resulting in it crashing into the rear of the moped. White was severely hurt in the accident. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the accident without stopping. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
