Pendergrass, GA (April 19, 2024) – The Georgia State Patrol confirmed one person lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Jackson County on Monday morning, April 15.
Official reports indicate that just before 8:00 a.m., a black Chrysler 200 was traveling northbound on US Highway 129. For reasons unknown, the vehicle became involved in a collision with a white Ford F250 pickup truck near John B Brooks Road. The impact of the crash sent both vehicles off the side of the roadway, where the truck ended up on its roof. A passenger in the Chrysler was fatally injured and pronounced deceased on site. The driver of the vehicle was severely hurt and rushed by EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia, for emergency treatment. The pickup truck driver was treated for minor injuries. At this time, the crash is under investigation.
