Raleigh, NC (February 23, 2024) – The Raleigh Police Department identified the victim of the motor vehicle accident on Tuesday as 44-year-old Rita Spensser. The accident occurred on February 20.
According to reports, at around 9:00 a.m., a broadside collision occurred on North Carolina Highway 42. The incident prompted the closure of the intersection near Castleberry Road. The force of the collision caused one vehicle to overturn. Authorities arrived at the scene and pronounced one of the drivers deceased. The victim was identified as Spensser. The second victim involved in the accident was transported to an area hospital for emergency care. The surviving driver was issued a ticket for careless driving and speeding. The incident is under investigation at this time.
