Rock Hill, SC (March 24, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident reported on Friday evening in York County claimed the lives of multiple victims. The accident was reported to law enforcement at around 6:30 p.m. on March 22.
According to official reports, a 2018 Chevrolet SUV and a 2019 Nissan sedan were both traveling westbound on Saluda Road. At the same time, a 2018 Chevrolet sedan was traveling east on the same roadway. For reasons unknown, the Chevrolet sedan and the Nissan sedan collided in the area near South Carolina Highway 324. The Chevrolet sedan then collided with the Chevrolet SUV, resulting in severe damage to the involved vehicles.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as 30-year-old Tionese Crim Hughes, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the scene. Two 3-year-old twins were severely injured in the accident. In the victims were transported to area hospitals. One of the girls passed away while on the way to the hospital. The second victim died after arriving. The driver of the Chevrolet sedan, identified as 39-year-old Kristen Agard, also sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the incident is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
