Savannah, GA (December 20, 2023) – The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that 64-year-old Naomi Williams lost her life as a result of a fatal accident that took place on Saturday evening, December 16. The crash was reported to officials at approximately 4:45 p.m.
Georgia State Patrol reports indicate that a BMW was heading northbound on Highway 17 when the driver lost control of the vehicle as they attempted to change lanes. As a result, the BMW collided with a Honda Accord. The force of the collision caused the Honda to enter the southbound lane, where it collided with a Mazda3 head-on. A passenger in the Honda, identified as Williams, was pronounced deceased at the scene due to suffering fatal injuries. The Chatham County Police Department shut down the highway for an extended period as they provided assistance on-site. Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
