Spartanburg Co., SC (January 1, 2024) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that one person died as a result of a fatal collision that took place on Sunday evening in Spartanburg County. On December 31, Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene of an accident on Interstate 85.
Preliminary reports indicate that a northbound pickup truck was traveling near mile marker 75 when it crossed over the center line and collided with two additional vehicles that were traveling southbound on the interstate. One person involved in the crash was killed and pronounced deceased at the scene. Four additional victims were injured and transported to area hospitals. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
