Toccoa, GA (May 23, 2024) – A fatal motor vehicle accident reported on Saturday in Stevens County claimed one person’s life. At around 8:40 p.m. on May 18, authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Big A Road.
Official reports indicate that a motorcycle and a truck collided on the roadway near Bellevue Drive. Authorities determined that a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Chevrolet Silverado collided on the road. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to go off the side of the road and overturned. The motorcyclist, identified as Shane Alzen of Toccoa, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident. A passenger on the Harley, identified as Julie Alzen, was injured. She was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for emergency care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
