Townsend, GA (February 25, 2024) – The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that a bicyclist lost their life as a result of an automobile accident that occurred in McIntosh County. The accident was reported at around 8:30 a.m. on February 24.
According to official reports, a bicyclist was traveling on Highway 99 when they were struck from behind by a vehicle near Harvest Lane Northeast. The bicyclist was severely hurt in the crash. Authorities arrived at the scene to treat the victim. However, the bicyclist, identified as an adult man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The accident is under investigation.
